With the wounds of a bloody civil war still fresh, Scotland will bleed anew.
Countless young lives ended on the battlefield, but the old continue to grapple for power, oblivious to the demons spawned amidst the blood and barbed wire.
The dark powers choose Macbeth, who becomes their executor, feeding on his disdain for slick politicos and his overwhelming desire for control over his fate, a desire rooted in loss which will drive both him and his wife to murder and madness.
Mooted Theatre Company and director Mark France present Shakespeare’s dark masterpiece, performed in the intimacy of 41 Monkgate Theatre by the critically acclaimed team behind Mooted’s 2009 production of The Taming of the Shrew.
